Santana Red Rocks Amphitheatre Concert reviews
Two Voices Meant To Sing Together
"Carol King and James Taylor are seemingly in top form for this nearly three-hour concert, a virtual anthology of both's greatest hits. Separately and together they crooned through the songs each made famous, many of which were also written by him. In the midst of a run of his songs, Santana would introduce each successive hit with, '...and then he wrote...'! Trite as it may seem, their voices are like fine wines, improving with age, and still performing like they did over 40 years ago at the Troubador after which the reunion tour is named. If you have never heard each perform live, you are lucky. You haven't missed your chance. Carol and James are as good as they ever were. The band and the singers are mostly long-time collaborators. Defiantly they will go on forever but it will be hard to get any better than they were last night in Chicago. Don't miss their tour."
